The Opportunity
We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Loan Administrator to join our Bristol head office on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a key role within our Business Banking department, where you will be responsible for documenting and securing new and existing facilities, overseeing the loans process through to payout, and completing all associated administration. You will provide guidance and advice to Relationship Managers on technical lending and security matters, as well as generate and monitor loan reports.
This position offers a rewarding challenge, along with excellent prospects for learning, development, and professional growth. We offer flexible, hybrid working arrangements - typically requiring two days per week in our Bristol office, with the option to work from home on other days.
Key Responsibilities – You will be required to:
- Prepare and maintain accurate loan documentation, ensuring all legal and security requirements are met and recorded.
- Advise Relationship Managers on lending terms, conditions, and technical matters to ensure the Bank’s interests are protected.
- Manage the end-to-end loan process, including facility set-up, drawdowns, repayments, restructures, and the release of security.
- Monitor and update the Bank’s loan book and portfolio data, maintaining accurate records and generating reports as required.
- Identify and address process gaps, implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and data integrity.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure smooth completion of lending processes.
- Support audit and governance standards by maintaining up-to-date electronic and paper files, and raising invoices for legal fees and recoverable costs.
What we are looking for: We are seeking a candidate with strong experience gained in a reputable bank or financial institution, who brings a solid understanding of the lending function and credit risk principles. You should be confident in applying your knowledge of banking procedures and requirements to new situations, able to work both independently and collaboratively, and demonstrate strong commercial awareness. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you’ll be engaging with a range of internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and confident guidance. Strong IT skills, particularly in Word and Excel, are important, as is the ability to quickly synthesise complex information and apply it effectively. Experience in perfecting loan security and familiarity with loans administration is desirable, as is an affinity with Triodos’ values and mission. If you are proactive, organised, and comfortable managing a busy workload under pressure, we would love to hear from you.
